In the World, Not of It

Around Austin, following Jesus doesn't make you normal. It makes you different. In John 17, Jesus prays that his followers would stay in the world without becoming like it.

It's a knife's edge, like the one on Capitol Peak. Fall off one side and you compromise, blending in until the room changes you. Fall off the other and you withdraw into a Christian bubble, away from the people God sent you to reach.

The way across is both at once. Get close to people. And stay anchored to Jesus.
